Who can benefit from this course?

This course is specifically designed to serve the needs of Early Years Practitioners who hold the Level 3 Paediatric First Aid certificate, who wish to refresh their First Aid skills on an annual basis in between renewal of the full certificate every three years. First Aiders can potentially lose confidence in their own ability to carry out first aid effectively if not faced with first aid situations on a regular basis, this course has been designed to refresh those essential skills.

Course includes the basic operation and use of an automated external defibrillator (AED)

Topics covered

By the end of the course, students will be able to demonstrate that essential life saving first aid skills and techniques have been updated and refreshed .The course will concentrate on the actions to take in an emergency situation such as cardiac arrest, choking , circulatory shock, bleeding and anaphylaxis. . First Aid techniques covered include carrying out a Primary Survey and a Secondary Assessment, Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation, Abdominal/Chest Thrusts for a choking casualty plus much more.
